About UIL Architects

At UIL Architects (UILA), we care more about responding to our clients’ goals than planting an aesthetic signpost saying, “we’ve been here.” We create work environments that foster productivity, vitality, and harmony within each of our clients’ unique cultures.

We consider ourselves more than just architects. Rather, we are a group of resourceful collaborators who aim to achieve a holistic view of our clients’ goals and initiatives. We listen, learn, and lead, and we always go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right.

Background

In 2011, Daniel Kwanghyun Baek (백광현) founded DKB Architect, sole proprietorship, which has since changed to UIL Architects, LLC as of 2013.

As a full service firm, UILA projects oversee all phases of the architectural process, from predesign to project closeout. In addition, UILA specializes in master plan preparation and conducts analyses and renovations for ADA, seismic, and life/safety issues.

Project experience of the UIL staff includes new construction, renovation, re-adaptation, and tenant improvements to a variety of building types.

Mr. Baek brings over 30 years of architectural design experience on a broad range of project types, including, but not limited to, residential, commercial, mixed-use, and higher education/public projects.

As a resident of Bellevue, Washington since 2008, Mr. Baek has worked with and developed relationships with numerous clients and colleagues throughout the Pacific Northwest. He enjoys cooking, watching the Seattle Seahawks, and spending time with his family.
